Cambodia
How do we begin to bring God's healing to this broken
nation, Cambodia, just emerging from a 25-year nightmare of
war and communist dictatorship? First, we do what Jesus
did - leave our comfort zones and join the poor in their urban
slums and squatter areas, sharing their joys and suffering. We
move in as their neighbours and make friends on equal terms,
not hindered by high fences, expensive possessions or
four-wheel drive vehicles. Join us in building God's
kingdom in Cambodia. Now is the time for mercy, the time for
bringing God's healing to this nation.

Our Approach
Servants hold firm to one particular belief concerning the
work of the gospel - that is: Christ's compassion should be
seen in actions, and never just reduced to words. We want to
see the transformation of a whole society not just pay lip
service to a list of beliefs.
Our mission here is to build relationships - for true healing
comes through relationships not programs.
Our Resources
In our work with the poorest of the poor, we recognise that
they have much to offer towards their own development.
Like the widow with her two mites and the boy with just a
handful of loaves and fishes, the poor are not exempt from
contributing - they have valuable and important resources to
bring too.
We believe the greatest resource of a community is its people
and so we seek to mobilise local church volunteers and
community workers. We try to identify people with compassion
and provide them with training, encouragement and seed
resources so that they are empowered to bring Jesus' love to
their poor neighbours. Because we want to maximise the
impact of our limited resources, Servants development
interventions start small, in the slums rather than with
institutions and big buildings. "A leader is best when
people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim
fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves." (Lao-Tzu)
