Cambodia - Family Planning
Empowering mothers
Cambodians traditionally have large families, with as many as
ten or twelve children. Increasingly however, many are
eager to use simple family planning techniques to limit family
size.
As part of our ongoing battle against poverty and
malnutrition, we aim to ensure that every woman has the
information and services to plan the timing, number and
spacing of her pregnancies. Once women have knowledge
and experience, they are empowered to use government or other
healthcare services.
Community family planning programs
Servants currently runs family planning clinics in six
locations. One Servants worker, a midwife, goes regularly to
each place and works closely with the local birth attendant to
give education and provide contraception to the many women who
are too poor to access other services.
