Transformation from within
Seeking to bring long-lasting change from within Khmer
society, we work closely with Cambodia's traditional birth
attendants, teaching them how to prevent complications in
delivery and ensure that problems in pregnancy are detected
early and treated appropriately.
We aim to ensure that all traditional birth attendants have
the knowledge and skills to provide excellent antenatal and
postnatal care, and if necessary to perform a clean and safe
delivery in the home.
Training
We hold teaching and debriefing sessions for a close-knit
group of local birth attendants. These monthly sessions are
reinforced with regular home visits by our staff.
