Servants USA was established to meet the growing interest from Americans in incarnational mission amongst the urban poor. Some of this interest has come through the writings of Viv Grigg (Companion to the Poor), and more recently Scott Bessenecker (The New Friars) - books which highlight the work of Servants in the slums of Asia. Others have heard about Servants through the speaking of International Coordinator, Craig Greenfield, at missions conferences and colleges in different parts of the country.

Currently the first few American Servants members are working in slums in India and others are preparing to serve in Indonesia and other countries. American interns regularly join our Servants community in Vancouver, Canada for a time of mentoring or discernment before heading off to Asia.

In addition to our work abroad, we resonate with many of the principles of the New Monastic movement and our dream is to establish an intentional Christian community in an inner city area of the States which would reflect the Biblical principles that guide our work in Asia, Vancouver and London. Servants USA has a small office in Pennsylvania which is primarily focussed on administration and finances at the moment. Board members are located in Kansas, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Florida.

We are grateful for the generous donations of individuals, foundations, churches and other organizations.  Servants is an approved 501(c)3 public charity in the USA and all donations received are tax deductible.

You can give to the work of Servants by sending a check (payable to ''Servants to Asia's Urban Poor'') to our U.S. office.  For regular monthly support of Servants missionaries or projects, our preferred method is an automatic deduction (authorized by you) from your bank account each month.  To authorize this, please download and fill in this form and send it to the U.S. office.
