India - The D Team
Servants workers have been living amongst the urban poor in this major Indian city for more than 10 years, responding to
urban poverty by living with the poor and working in relief
and development. India has a Christian presence and we
seek to work alongside the Indian Church, to engender hope and
to encourage moving toward wholism. Some Servants
workers in India work with Indian organizations in a variety
of roles; we are consultants, administrators and trainers.
The organizations we work with are
involved in community health, literacy, and wholistic
development in urban slums and also village areas. For
other Servants workers, the focus is more on being in their
local poor neighbourhood and, through the process of
relationships, seeking signs of God's kingdom coming.
Recently, we have established a small internship program for Indian Christians who want to explore incarnational ministry amongst the urban poor. We are not currently accepting any further team members in this city.
