Around 20 people are
part of the NZ team with many more
in a looser network of partners and fellow travellers inspired
by Jesus' journey to the poor.
Critical mass of the team are in Auckland, Wellington,
Dunedin, with others in Hamilton, Christchurch, Motueka and
Invercargill. We are
interested in expanding our presence into other areas -
perhaps you can help!
Our purpose is to
facilitate, support and expand the work of Servants Asian
teams, especially that of NZ workers in those teams. We also
aim to promote the Servants lifestyle and values at home in
New Zealand. We want to
encourage groups of believers to form intentional Christian communities in
partnership with the poor in New Zealand, for spiritual,
material and community development.
Opportunities to Serve
The NZ team is looking for one (or more) people for the
following roles:
Servants NZ Coordinator
Are you interested in supporting Kiwis serving God in hard
places?
Want to be part of a movement working for the transformation
of Asian slums?
Looking for a way to serve the poor without leaving home?
Are your strengths in organising and bringing people together,
careful planning and communicating?
Are you willing to be frugal, conscientious, passionate, and
put in the hard yards in order to support the formation of
faith communities in the slums of Asia’s mega cities?
Servants to Asia’s Urban Poor (NZ) is looking for an efficient
and reliable coordinator
who can commit full or part time to this faith-based task.
You will need to be a self-starter, good at working alone or
in a team, and unfazed by serving servants.
We hope you would have good computer skills and some financial
or office management background,
but your capacity to learn, to pray, to collaborate, and to
organise is essential.
